We were incorporated in the Cayman Islands on December 22, 1999 under the name
GameNow.net Limited as an exempted company limited by shares and were renamed
The9 Limited in February 2004. We formed GameNow.net (Hong Kong) Limited, or
GameNow, on January 17, 2000 in Hong Kong, as a wholly-owned subsidiary. We have
historically conducted our operations in large part through The9 Computer
Technology Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., or The9 Computer, previously a
direct wholly-owned subsidiary of GameNow in China that we disposed in February
2020. We now conduct our operations through NBTC Limited, a direct wholly-owned
subsidiary in Hong Kong, and NFTSTAR, a direct wholly-owned subsidiary in Hong
Kong, and Shanghai Hui Ling, a direct wholly-owned subsidiary of GameNow in
China.
